Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has disclosed that about 100,000 women across the state have benefited from the World Bank supported Nigeria for Women Programme (NFWP).

Abiodun said the empowerment initiative was contributing to efforts to reduce poverty by providing women with opportunities to improve their livelihoods and strengthen their economic independence.

According to the governor, empowering women remains an important strategy for addressing poverty, as women who gain access to economic opportunities can support their families and contribute more effectively to community development.

He said the state government would continue to support initiatives that promote women’s economic participation and improve the welfare of households across Ogun State.

The governor also stressed the importance of sustained investment in empowerment programmes capable of creating opportunities and improving the living standards of vulnerable members of society.
