Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and economic opportunities in Shelleng Local Government Area, promising to complete the Kiri Shelleng road and build an ultra modern market in the area.
The Governor made the commitment at the Government House in Yola while receiving a delegation of prominent members of the Shelleng Emirate led by the Amna Shelleng, Dr. Abdullahi Isa Dasong II.
The delegation visited the Governor to express appreciation for the projects and other government interventions recorded in Shelleng and across Adamawa State.

Fintiri said the Kiri Shelleng road would soon receive the final stages of asphalting, while the proposed market at the Shelleng Local Government headquarters would provide a modern platform for commercial activities and contribute to the economic development of the area.
The Governor also highlighted his administration’s investments in education, noting that the state government had continued to pay WAEC and NECO examination fees for students across the state over the past seven years. He added that learning materials had also been provided to improve teaching and learning.
Fintiri called for greater unity among the people of Adamawa, stressing that collective support and cooperation remained essential to sustaining development across the state.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Dr. Abdullahi Isa Dasong II thanked the Governor for the projects implemented in Shelleng and other parts of the state, describing the visit as an opportunity to acknowledge the administration’s efforts.

The Chairman of Shelleng Local Government Council, Abubakar Isa Mai Jama’a, and the Commissioner for Mineral Resources, Haruna Ibrahim, also commended the administration’s development agenda, particularly its commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind.
They welcomed the approval for the construction of community markets across the state and appealed to Governor Fintiri to consider further interventions in Shelleng, with particular emphasis on the Shelleng Bodwai road.
