Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the appointment of 19 new Permanent Secretaries to fill vacancies and strengthen administrative capacity across the state civil service.
The appointments, approved on Monday, August 10, 2026, were announced by the Head of the State Civil Service, Prof. Mu’azu Shehu.
According to the Head of Service, the appointments became necessary due to a shortage of Permanent Secretaries, as well as the recent creation and restructuring of ministries by the state government.
He said the new appointees were selected from 11 Local Government Areas, with consideration given to geographical spread, professional experience, competence and the specific requirements of the various ministries.
Prof. Shehu added that the officers had been carefully assessed and found suitable based on their experience, performance, professionalism and commitment to public service.
Governor Yahaya charged the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries to bring their experience and expertise to bear on their new responsibilities and contribute to building a more responsive, efficient and results-oriented civil service.
The move is expected to strengthen administrative leadership across Gombe State ministries and improve service delivery to residents.
