Ford Motor Company is recalling 102,159 trucks in the United States after regulators identified a fault that could cause speedometers and engine-speed gauges to display inaccurate readings, raising concerns about road safety.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, covering selected 2025 and 2026 model-year vehicles across Ford’s F-Series lineup.
Affected vehicles include certain F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 trucks from the 2025 and 2026 model years, alongside selected 2026 F-150 and F-750 models.
According to the regulator, the speedometer and analogue tachometer may become stuck or move erratically, preventing drivers from obtaining accurate information about vehicle speed and engine revolutions per minute.
An inaccurate speedometer could cause drivers to travel faster than intended without realising it, increasing the risk of a road accident.
To address the problem, Ford dealers will replace the affected instrument-cluster modules free of charge, according to the recall notice.
The latest action adds to the safety and quality challenges facing the American automaker, which has issued several vehicle recalls in recent months.
For vehicle owners, the recall highlights the importance of checking whether their trucks are affected and arranging the prescribed repairs through authorised dealerships.
