Kano Declares September 1 Public Holiday for Takutaha Celebrations

The Kano State Government has declared Tuesday, September 1, 2026, a public holiday to allow residents to participate in the Takutaha Maulud celebrations.

The declaration is aimed at enabling residents to observe the religious event and participate in activities marking the occasion.

The government urged residents to use the celebration to promote peace, unity and peaceful coexistence across the state.

The holiday is expected to affect government offices and other public institutions across Kano State.
