The Gombe State Government has approved N260 million for the relocation of Tudun Hatsi Market to Dukku Road, as part of efforts to improve the management of grain trading and address challenges associated with the existing market.
Governor Muhammadu Yahaya approved N200 million for the relocation project, while an additional N60 million was earmarked as compensation for residents and traders who will be affected by the exercise.
The relocation is expected to provide a more suitable environment for grain traders and help improve commercial activities in the area.
The state government said the compensation component was designed to cushion the impact of the relocation on those directly affected by the development.
The move is part of the administration’s broader efforts to improve infrastructure and create a more organised environment for commercial activities across Gombe State.
