The Katsina State Police Command has foiled an attempted attack by suspected bandits and neutralised one of the assailants during a security operation in the state.
The operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts by the police to prevent criminal groups from attacking communities and terrorising residents across Katsina.
According to reports, the security operatives successfully disrupted the suspected bandits’ operation before they could carry out their planned attack. One suspect was neutralised during the encounter, while efforts are expected to continue to track down other members of the group.
The latest operation highlights the continued security challenges facing parts of Katsina State, particularly from armed bandits who have targeted communities, motorists and rural residents.
The police and other security agencies have continued to intensify patrols and operations across vulnerable areas in the state to protect lives and property and prevent further attacks.
The incident was among the Katsina security stories reported in Friday’s newspaper headlines.
