Jarvis Advises Singles to Secure Finances Before Marriage.

Nigerian TikTok content creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has advised singles to avoid marriage until they are financially prepared, stressing that inadequate funds can make the experience more challenging.

According to a report by The Guardian, the influencer, who is engaged to fellow content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, shared the advice while reflecting on the realities of wedding planning and the financial demands of marriage.

“If you don’t have money, don’t get married. Don’t try it, I beg you,” she said.

Jarvis suggested that couples with limited resources could split their wedding plans by holding a traditional ceremony first and postponing the white wedding until they are financially able to organise it.

“If you are planning to get married, you can do the traditional wedding this year and the white wedding next year,” she added.

She also described wedding planning as a demanding process regardless of financial status, revealing that she and Peller considered postponing their ceremony because of the pressure involved.

“We almost postponed our wedding, but even if we move it 50 years from now, we will still have to prepare for it,” she said.

Jarvis’s comments come after a relationship that has remained in the public spotlight for more than two years. The couple has repeatedly made headlines over public disagreements, breakups and reconciliations, many of which unfolded during TikTok livestreams.

Their relationship suffered a major setback in late 2025 after a highly publicised breakup that followed an emotional livestream in which Peller crashed his newly acquired car. At the time, Jarvis announced that the relationship had ended temporarily, saying both of them needed emotional stability.

The pair later reconciled, and Peller proposed for the second time in June 2026 at a luxury hotel in Accra, Ghana. They have since held their traditional wedding.

Despite their engagement, the couple continues to attract criticism from some social media users, who frequently cite their history of public disputes and their age difference as reasons to question the future of their marriage.

Outside their relationship, Jarvis and Peller were recently drawn into the viral “Olodo Uprising” debate after rapper Ycee criticised what he described as the growing influence of “Peller culture” during an appearance on the Afropolitan Podcast.

Responding to the criticism, Jarvis defended herself and her fiancé, rejecting claims that content creators lack intelligence.

“I went to school. I graduated,” she said, arguing that Nigeria’s economic realities have forced many educated graduates to seek opportunities through digital content creation.

She also dismissed the label “Peller culture,” maintaining that every creator has a unique brand and that producing online entertainment is a legitimate way of earning a living in the country’s challenging economic environment.
