The Adamawa State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against kidnapping and other violent crimes with the successful rescue of a kidnapped victim during a joint security operation in Song Local Government Area.

The operation, carried out on June 27, 2026, involved police operatives from the Song Divisional Police Headquarters working in collaboration with local hunters. The team rescued Alhaji Rabe Suleiman, a resident of Roma Village in Suktu District, who was abducted in the early hours of June 26, 2026.

According to the Police Command, the rescue followed credible intelligence that led security operatives to the kidnappers’ hideout in the Morogma Mountains. On arrival, the team engaged the armed suspects in a gun battle.

Faced with the superior firepower and tactical response of the security operatives, the kidnappers fled into the surrounding mountains, abandoning their captive. Police believe some of the fleeing suspects sustained bullet wounds during the exchange.

The victim was rescued unharmed, taken to a medical facility for examination, and later reunited with his family.

During the operation, security personnel recovered one Beretta pistol, one live round of Beretta ammunition, a torchlight, a small bag, suspected charms, and food items believed to have been left behind by the fleeing suspects.

Commending the operation, the Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Umar Hasan, praised the courage, professionalism, and effective collaboration between police operatives and local hunters, describing the rescue as another significant achievement in the Command’s efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.

He directed security personnel to intensify efforts to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes while ensuring the protection of lives and property across Adamawa State.
