A youth-led support group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has intensified its grassroots mobilisation campaign in support of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Evidence Group made the appeal on Monday, October 26, during the grand finale of its statewide local government tour in Calabar South, urging youths and residents to participate actively in the electoral process.
The group’s initiator, Edem Bassey, called on young people to take greater responsibility for shaping the state’s political future through voting and community mobilisation.
He also emphasised the importance of unity and grassroots engagement in the party’s preparations for the forthcoming elections.
Meanwhile, Effiong Ekarika, a member of the Cross River State House of Assembly representing Calabar South Constituency I, urged residents to support Governor Otu’s administration, citing its commitment to infrastructure development, inclusive governance and human capital development.
The group also reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its grassroots activities and encouraging residents to support APC candidates at both the state and federal levels.
The mobilisation exercise forms part of the group’s broader effort to strengthen the party’s presence across Cross River State ahead of the 2027 elections.
However, the group’s endorsement reflects the position of its members and does not necessarily represent the political preferences of all youths and residents in the state.
