Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would defeat opposition figures Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election, even if the two politicians unite.
Fayose made the statement while discussing the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former governor said he believes Tinubu has sufficient political support to retain the presidency, arguing that a possible alliance between Atiku and Obi would not necessarily prevent the president from winning.
His comments come amid ongoing discussions among opposition politicians about forming a coalition and presenting a common candidate against the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Atiku and Obi have both remained prominent figures in Nigeria’s opposition politics, with political realignments expected to intensify as the 2027 elections draw closer.
Fayose’s prediction reflects his personal political assessment, while the eventual outcome of the 2027 presidential election will be determined by voters at the polls.
