Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez has completed his medical ahead of his proposed move to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion from Championship club Millwall.
The 25 year old Nigerian is closing in on a move to the Amex Stadium after Brighton reached an agreement with Millwall for his transfer on the final day of the summer transfer window.
The deal is understood to be worth an initial £12.5 million, with performance related add ons capable of taking the total package beyond £15 million. The agreement is also expected to include a four year contract for Azeez, with Brighton holding an option to extend the deal by another year.
Azeez’s move represents a major step in his career after an impressive campaign with Millwall during the 2025/26 season. The winger scored 11 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions, helping the club reach the Championship play off semi finals.
His performances also earned him recognition in the PFA Championship Team of the Season and attracted interest from several clubs before Brighton made their decisive move.
The Nigerian international has also made an impact at senior international level. Azeez featured for the Super Eagles during the 2026 Unity Cup and strengthened his profile with his performances for the national team.
Brighton’s decision to sign the winger comes as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign and a return to European competition.
For Millwall, the transfer represents a significant financial gain. The club signed Azeez from Reading for around £1 million in 2024, meaning the proposed sale could deliver a substantial return on its investment.
Azeez’s arrival would also make him one of the latest Nigerian players to feature for Brighton, further increasing the country’s representation at the Premier League club.
With his medical completed, the remaining formalities are expected to be concluded before the transfer deadline, paving the way for the official announcement of his move to Brighton.
The transfer will give Azeez an opportunity to test himself at the highest level of English football after establishing himself as one of the Championship’s standout attacking players.
