ByteDance has reached an agreement with Hollywood’s Motion Picture Association (MPA) to strengthen copyright protections in its artificial intelligence tools.

The deal follows concerns over AI systems generating copyrighted characters, film content and celebrity likenesses without permission. ByteDance said it has introduced stronger intellectual property safeguards for its AI image and video-generation models.

The agreement marks an important step as technology and entertainment companies seek to balance AI innovation with the protection of creative rights. It could also provide a model for future cooperation between AI developers and copyright holders.
