Caritas Nigeria has joined stakeholders in Yola, Adamawa State, to celebrate the graduation of beneficiaries of the European Union supported Disengagement, Review, Reintegration and Reconciliation of Persons Formerly Associated with Non State Armed Groups (SD3R) Project.
The graduation ceremony was held on August 12, 2026, and marked a significant milestone for participants who underwent skills acquisition, rehabilitation and reintegration support under the project.

According to Caritas Nigeria, the initiative is designed to provide beneficiaries with opportunities to rebuild their livelihoods, regain their dignity and reconnect positively with their communities.
The organisation was represented at the ceremony by its Director of Humanitarian Service and Early Recovery, Nkese Udongwo, alongside the Senior Advisor, Humanitarian and Early Recovery, Mr Friday Alhassan.
The event also featured the provision of livelihood support to beneficiaries, including start up kits and cash grants aimed at helping participants establish sustainable sources of income.
Caritas Nigeria said the support goes beyond the completion of a training programme, stressing that successful reintegration requires creating pathways to economic independence, social acceptance and peaceful coexistence.

The organisation noted that strengthening livelihoods and social cohesion would help beneficiaries contribute positively to their communities while building more peaceful and sustainable futures.
The SD3R Project is part of broader efforts to support the rehabilitation, reintegration and reconciliation of persons formerly associated with non state armed groups and promote stability in communities affected by conflict.
