Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) supply-chain companies are expected to maintain their momentum in Hong Kong’s stock market despite growing concerns over valuations and volatility in the global technology sector.
Strong demand from mainland Chinese and international investors continues to support upcoming listings, while Chinese hardware suppliers benefit from rising global investment in AI infrastructure.
Simon Yuan, a senior investment banker working with Chinese companies, warned that a downturn in the US AI market could affect Hong Kong and other global markets.
Looking ahead to 2027, investor attention is expected to expand beyond AI hardware manufacturers toward companies developing AI models and applications. These businesses will need to demonstrate strong growth, sustainable business models and profitability to attract investors.
Hong Kong recorded 118 new listings in the first nine months of 2026, raising HK$388 billion ($49.4 billion), a 106% increase from the same period last year.
Despite the strong performance, market volatility and valuation concerns remain key risks for Chinese technology companies seeking to go public.
