Maiduguri, Borno State — In a renewed effort to support vulnerable communities affected by years of conflict, the European Union (EU), the United Nations (UN), and a partner foundation have empowered 300 vulnerable persons in Borno State through a humanitarian intervention aimed at improving livelihoods and strengthening community resilience.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to assist conflict-affected populations by providing opportunities that promote self-reliance and reduce dependence on humanitarian aid. Beneficiaries are expected to receive support designed to improve their economic well-being and help them rebuild sustainable livelihoods.
Development partners have continued to work with government institutions and local stakeholders to deliver programmes that address the needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs), women, youths, and other vulnerable groups across Borno State.
The empowerment programme underscores the importance of collaborative action in tackling the long-term humanitarian and development challenges facing communities in Nigeria’s North-East. Stakeholders say such interventions remain critical to promoting economic recovery, social inclusion, and lasting peace in areas affected by insurgency.
As recovery efforts continue across the region, development partners have reiterated their commitment to supporting initiatives that improve livelihoods, strengthen resilience, and create opportunities for vulnerable households to rebuild their lives with dignity.
