Climate Change: NHRC Calls for Human Rights Based Government Policies.

The Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, Tony Ojukwu, SAN, has called on the Federal Government to incorporate human rights considerations into its climate change policies and response strategies.

Ojukwu made the call on Tuesday, stressing the need for climate action to protect the rights and wellbeing of vulnerable communities affected by the growing impact of climate change.

He urged relevant authorities to ensure that human rights principles remain central to the formulation and implementation of climate policies and intervention programmes.
