Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate, Whitney Nneoma Chukwu, popularly known as Nomy, has been disqualified from the reality show following repeated defiance of Big Brother’s instructions.
Nomy’s disqualification was announced on Monday, September 7, after she was confronted over another breach of the rules while serving as the week’s designated Benchwarmer.
As part of the punishment, Nomy had been instructed to remain on an assigned bench and wear a designated vest after finishing last in a recent Head of House challenge. However, she reportedly abandoned the bench and left the vest behind despite the instructions.
The latest violation came after a series of warnings and disciplinary measures against the 26 year old housemate.
Earlier in the season, Nomy received a strike after Big Brother found her guilty of repeatedly disregarding his instructions. At the time, the strike was described as her final warning, with Big Brother cautioning that further violations could attract more serious consequences.
Despite the warning, Nomy was subsequently involved in further incidents involving disobedience, lateness and failure to participate in some mandatory activities.
Addressing the housemate over the latest breach, Big Brother revoked her privilege to remain in the competition and directed her to leave the house.
Nomy was given 30 minutes to pack her belongings and vacate the Big Brother house.
Her disqualification makes her the first housemate to be removed from the ongoing Season 11 competition on disciplinary grounds rather than through the regular eviction process.
The development also ends her chances of competing for the season’s grand prize, which is valued at N160 million.
Nomy, who is a fashion entrepreneur and founder of Ambition by Witme, joined the Season 11 edition of the reality show, tagged “Show Ya Sef”, in July.
During her time in the house, she became known for her outspoken personality, confidence and distinctive fashion style. Her journey, however, was increasingly overshadowed by repeated clashes with Big Brother over compliance with house rules.
Her exit leaves the remaining housemates to continue their battle for survival and the grand prize as the competition moves further into the season.
Nomy’s disqualification has also sparked reactions among viewers, with the decision highlighting the strict consequences attached to repeated violations of Big Brother’s instructions.
