A farmer, Hammasumo Ali, has reportedly lost his left hand following an alleged machete attack by a herdsman in Nyashika, Gumti Ward, Toungo Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The incident reportedly occurred while Ali was working on his farm. According to the Toungo LGA Information Secretary, Daniel Pogu Toungo, the attack followed a dispute between the farmer and the herdsman over grazing.

Ali reportedly sustained severe injuries during the attack, resulting in the loss of his left hand.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over recurring conflicts between farmers and herders in rural communities, particularly disputes linked to grazing and access to farmland.

Details surrounding the incident remain under investigation, while further information on the circumstances of the attack is expected to emerge.
