The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has highlighted the importance of integrating safety systems across Nigeria’s transport sector to build a more resilient network.
NSIB Director General, Capt. Alex Sabundu Badeh Jr., spoke at the 19th National Council on Transportation in Abuja during the unveiling of the new National Land Transport Policy.
Badeh said the NSIB’s mandate as a multimodal investigation agency is to investigate transport incidents, identify safety lessons and issue recommendations aimed at preventing future accidents across aviation, rail, marine and road sectors.
He stressed the need for relevant stakeholders to implement safety recommendations, strengthen inter agency collaboration and invest in continuous training.

The NSIB reaffirmed its commitment to working with regulators, operators and policymakers to protect lives and improve the safety and reliability of Nigeria’s transport infrastructure.
