ASUS is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand with the launch of the ROG XBOX Ally X20, a premium handheld gaming PC that combines anniversary styling with upgraded hardware.

The X20 features a 7.4-inch ROG Nebula HDR OLED display with 1080p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, VRR and HDR support. It is powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor and includes TMR joysticks, improved controls and an upgraded cooling system designed for demanding PC games.

The handheld also receives a distinctive translucent black chassis with gold accents, giving users a view of parts of the internal structure while marking the device as part of ROG’s 20th-anniversary Edition 20 collection. ASUS says the design is intended to combine nostalgia with modern gaming hardware.

The device runs Windows 11 and incorporates an Xbox-oriented interface, allowing players to access games across their PC libraries and major gaming platforms. Features such as AMD’s Auto SR upscaling are also designed to improve visual quality and gaming performance.

Price and Availability

ASUS has opened pre-orders for the ROG XBOX Ally X20 at $1,299 for the standalone handheld. A premium $2,499 bundle includes the handheld, ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 gaming AR glasses, a dbrand Killswitch case, a 68W adapter and a custom Pelican protective case.

The ROG XBOX Ally X20 is scheduled to go on sale on October 15, 2026.

The launch represents one of the headline products in ASUS ROG’s 20th-anniversary celebration, highlighting the company’s push toward increasingly powerful and premium portable gaming hardware.
