The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of drug trafficking and recovered methylene chloride from him.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended by police operatives during an operation aimed at curbing drug-related activities in the state.
Methylene chloride, also known as dichloromethane, is an industrial chemical with legitimate uses but can be hazardous when improperly handled.
Police said the suspect is being investigated over the alleged offence, while the recovered substance has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
The command is expected to take further legal action after the completion of its investigation.
