Traditional and political leaders in Yobe North have thrown their weight behind the governorship ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, ahead of the 2027 election.

The endorsements followed Wali’s consultations with prominent figures in the zone, including the Emir of Bade, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Umar Suleiman, the Emir of Machina, Alhaji (Dr.) Bashir Albishir Bukar, and former Senate President, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan.

Wali, who hails from Nguru in Yobe North, was described as a son of the zone and a candidate capable of taking the governorship to Zone C.

The Emir of Bade welcomed Wali and urged him to remain accessible to stakeholders and avoid allowing political cabals to isolate him from people who could offer sincere advice.

Lawan, speaking on behalf of Yobe North, also pledged the zone’s support for Wali, saying stakeholders would work to secure his victory and improve on their previous electoral performance.

The former Senate President further called for reconciliation among APC members and other political stakeholders, urging leaders to engage aggrieved members and opposition figures ahead of the 2027 election.

The development adds momentum to the emerging political campaign for a shift of the Yobe governorship to Zone C, with Wali now receiving endorsements from influential figures across Yobe North.
