Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja, shortly after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
Adeleke’s visit to Wike came as part of his engagements in Abuja following his victory in the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
During the meeting with Wike, Adeleke and the FCT minister were photographed holding the governor’s Certificate of Return. The photograph was shared by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, who described the visit simply as Adeleke visiting the FCT minister.
Earlier in the day, Adeleke had met with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he presented his Certificate of Return and thanked the President for what he described as his role in allowing the election to proceed freely and fairly.
Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, was declared winner after securing 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
The governor said his visit to Tinubu was mainly to express appreciation for the President’s commitment to the democratic process.
The details of Adeleke’s discussion with Wike were not immediately disclosed.
