Katsina State Governor has called for stronger collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) to address the growing security challenges confronting Katsina and other parts of the Northwest.

The governor made the call during discussions with the Director-General of the DSS, stressing the need for closer cooperation among security agencies to improve intelligence gathering, prevent attacks and protect communities across the region.

The engagement focused on strengthening security operations and developing coordinated strategies to tackle banditry, terrorism and other criminal activities threatening lives and livelihoods in the Northwest.

Both sides emphasised the importance of intelligence-led operations and effective collaboration between state authorities and security agencies to restore peace and stability in affected communities.

The development comes amid renewed concerns over insecurity across parts of the Northwest, with Katsina and neighbouring states continuing to face security threats from armed groups.

The stakeholders expressed commitment to deepening cooperation and supporting measures aimed at improving the safety of residents and strengthening security across the region.
