Intel has raised $20 billion through an expanded share offering as the chipmaker looks to fund its growing investment in advanced manufacturing and contract chip production.
The company priced the offering at $95 per share, below its previous closing price. Intel had initially planned to raise $15 billion but increased the size of the sale following strong investor demand.
The fresh capital comes as Intel works to strengthen its foundry business and compete with industry leader Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). The company is investing heavily in new production facilities and advanced chip-packaging technology.
Intel has also raised its 2026 capital spending forecast to $20 billion, reflecting increased demand for processors linked to artificial intelligence.
The company recently announced a €5 billion investment in its Ireland manufacturing hub and plans to begin high-volume production using its advanced 14A process in 2028.
The latest share sale gives Intel additional funding as it continues its turnaround strategy and seeks to regain a stronger position in the global semiconductor industry.
