The Bank of Agriculture (BOA), in partnership with WACOT Limited, has commenced the distribution of farm inputs to farmers in Jigawa State under a financing scheme offering single-digit interest loans aimed at boosting agricultural productivity.

The initiative is designed to improve farmers’ access to quality inputs, including seeds, fertilizers, and other essential farming materials, while easing the financial burden associated with agricultural production.

Speaking during the programme, officials said the intervention forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen food security, increase crop yields, and support smallholder farmers through affordable agricultural financing. They noted that the single-digit interest loan scheme would enable beneficiaries to expand their farming activities and improve their livelihoods.

The partners reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Federal Government’s agricultural transformation agenda by enhancing access to credit, encouraging modern farming practices, and promoting sustainable agricultural development in Jigawa State.

Beneficiary farmers welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that the support would improve productivity, increase incomes, and contribute to food sufficiency within the state and across the country.
