The United States has resumed sharing intelligence with Ukraine about incoming Russian missile attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday after talks with US envoy Steve Witkoff in Oslo, Norway.

Zelenskyy said Kyiv was again receiving advance warnings about Russian ballistic missile launches after intelligence sharing appeared to have been suspended the previous week. He described the restoration as an important development that could help protect civilians, including children.

“Now it works. It’s great,” Zelenskyy said, thanking the United States for restoring the warnings.

The announcement came as Washington and Kyiv work to repair strained relations while seeking a possible path toward ending Russia’s war in Ukraine. Witkoff is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, with a US official saying the discussions are intended to explore direct negotiations involving Russia, Ukraine and potentially other countries.

The Oslo meeting also included Jared Kushner, US President Donald Trump’s son in law, who joined by video. Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and European Union and British security officials also participated.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine remains under severe pressure from Russian attacks but rejected suggestions that his country is losing the war. He said Ukraine was losing people and valuable time because of continued strikes.

The Ukrainian president also raised concerns about restrictions affecting Starshield satellite communications, which Ukraine relies on for military operations. He said Kyiv had offered to stop long range attacks on Russian oil refineries if Washington supplied additional Patriot missile interceptors to strengthen Ukraine’s air defences.

Zelenskyy also rejected any peace agreement negotiated without Ukrainian participation, following reports that Putin had proposed a future meeting involving Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“There can be nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said, insisting Kyiv must have a seat at any negotiations determining the country’s future.

The diplomatic tensions come as Russian attacks continue across Ukraine. At least nine people were reported killed on Tuesday, including three people who died after a Russian drone struck two vehicles on the Kyiv to Odesa highway.
