The Equipment Leasing Association of Nigeria (ELAN) is set to examine strategies for sustaining business growth and improving access to productive assets amid Nigeria’s changing economic conditions.

The association will address these issues at its 24th National Lease Conference, scheduled for November 12, 2026, in Lagos, under the theme, “Equipment Leasing in Nigeria: Maintaining Balance in a Changing Economy.”

ELAN Chairman, Mrs Ngozi Ehigiamusoe, said the conference would focus on challenges confronting businesses, including rising operating costs, financing constraints, foreign exchange pressures and the need to improve productivity.

She explained that the gathering would provide a platform for industry stakeholders to explore strategies for strengthening business resilience, promoting sustainable growth and attracting investment.

Equipment leasing enables businesses to acquire machinery, vehicles and other productive assets without committing substantial capital to outright purchases. The arrangement allows payments to be spread over an agreed period, helping enterprises preserve funds for other operational needs.

The financing model supports several sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, construction, logistics and technology.

As Nigeria continues efforts to strengthen domestic production and industrial capacity, leasing offers businesses an alternative means of accessing modern equipment and improving operational efficiency.

The conference is expected to bring together industry leaders, financial institutions, business executives and government representatives to discuss investment opportunities and the future of Nigeria’s leasing industry.

The discussions could also contribute to broader efforts to improve access to business financing, encourage private-sector investment and support economic development.
