The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a suspected indoor cannabis farm in the Apapa area of the state and arrested two men in connection with the discovery. The suspects were identified as Thomas Razvickas, a 49-year-old Polish national, and James Chisome, a 36-year-old Nigerian.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying the facility was discovered at a residential property on November 2 following credible intelligence received by police operatives. According to Adebisi, the officers found a sophisticated indoor farming facility equipped for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of substances suspected to be cannabis.
She said the two suspects, who reside at the property, were arrested during the operation and taken into police custody. Adebisi added that the suspects had made confessional statements and were providing useful information to assist the ongoing investigation.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Tijani Fatai, also visited the location to inspect the facility and receive updates on the investigation. Fatai commended the officers for their vigilance and intelligence-led operation, reaffirming the command’s commitment to combating drug-related offences and dismantling criminal networks across the state. He also encouraged residents to continue providing credible information to security agencies, assuring them of the police command’s continued efforts to tackle crime.
