The Nigeria Premier Football League has fined Doma United ₦5.25 million and ordered the club to play their next three home matches behind closed doors following alleged security breaches and supporters’ misconduct during their 1-1 draw with Kun Khalifat FC in Gombe.

The sanctions stem from incidents during the Matchday Nine encounter at Pantami Stadium on Saturday, with the league accusing the Savannah Tigers of failing to provide adequate security and allowing unauthorised persons into restricted areas.

In its disciplinary notice, the NPFL also cited hostile conduct by supporters towards match officials and members of the visiting team, alongside alleged misconduct involving an away-team official after the match.

Doma United were fined ₦3 million over repeated failures to provide adequate security at their home fixtures, while another ₦1 million penalty was imposed over the alleged hostility towards match officials.

The club was handed an additional ₦1 million fine over the incident involving the visiting team’s official.

The league also ordered Doma United to pay ₦250,000 to cover the medical expenses of Kun Khalifat head coach Obinna Uzoho, who reportedly sustained an injury during the incident.

In a further disciplinary measure, the NPFL recommended that the match commissioner be demoted to a lower division over alleged dereliction of duty, inadequate supervision and insufficient reporting of the events.

Doma United have 48 hours from the date of the notice to appeal the sanctions.

The league warned the club to strengthen its security arrangements and educate supporters on acceptable conduct, stressing that further violations could attract more severe penalties.

If upheld, the three-match stadium restriction will require Doma United to host their next three home fixtures without spectators, as the NPFL intensifies efforts to improve matchday safety across the league.
