The All Progressives Congress, APC, has won four of the five legislative seats contested in the September 19, 2026 bye-elections held across Kano, Gombe, Bauchi and Delta states.
The APC secured victories in Gombe, Kano, Delta and one of the two contested constituencies in Bauchi, while the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, won the remaining seat in Bauchi.
In Gombe State, APC candidate Kallamu Usman MaiJama’a won the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency seat with 41,121 votes.
In Kano, Hussain Yusuf-Datti of the APC won the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency by-election with 22,890 votes, according to the returning officer.
The APC also won the Udu State Constituency seat in Delta State, while its candidate, Yakubu Ali, secured victory in the Disina constituency of Bauchi State.
However, the APM won the Sakwa State Constituency seat in Bauchi, defeating the APC candidate in the contest.
The five bye-elections were conducted to fill legislative vacancies across the four states. INEC had earlier fixed September 19 for the polls in the affected constituencies.
The results mean the APC secured four of the five available legislative seats, while the APM won one.
