The Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has vowed to end poverty and insecurity in Nigeria if elected president in the 2027 presidential election.

Adebayo made the pledge while featuring on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Personality Interview Series on Sunday in Abuja, saying the SDP had entrusted him with the responsibility of leading its campaign against poverty and insecurity.

He said his ambition was not directed at any particular politician but at tackling the major challenges facing Nigerians, including poverty, insecurity, unemployment, poor economic management, inadequate electricity and the rising cost of education.

Adebayo said the SDP would campaign around its manifesto, titled “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity,” and ensure Nigerians understood and supported its proposed solutions.

He said the party was better prepared for the 2027 election and would focus on reaching voters across the country. According to him, the SDP would deploy agents to all 16,874 polling units and translate its manifesto into 15 Nigerian languages in print, audio and visual formats.

The presidential candidate also said the SDP was a national party formed for all Nigerians, adding that no individual could claim sole ownership or founder status.

Adebayo urged Nigerians to trust the party’s competence, character and integrity, saying its success would ultimately be measured by its ability to deliver practical solutions to the country’s challenges.
