The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the promotion of 27,624 personnel across Nigeria’s four paramilitary services and announced that its ongoing recruitment portal will reopen from October 28 to November 13, 2026.
The announcement was made by the Board’s Secretary, Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (Rtd), while briefing journalists after the Board’s 01/26 meeting at the Board Secretariat in Area 1, Abuja, on behalf of its Chairman, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo.
The promotions cover personnel in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Federal Fire Service (FFS).
According to the Board, the promotion breakdown is as follows:
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps: 17,343 officers
- Nigerian Correctional Service: 4,601 officers
- Nigeria Immigration Service: 4,097 officers
- Federal Fire Service: 1,583 officers
The Board said the promotions were intended to address career stagnation, improve staff morale and strengthen service delivery across the four agencies.
It also validated a healthcare policy framework aimed at improving the health, fitness and general wellbeing of officers and men. In addition, the Board considered and approved 228 disciplinary cases as part of efforts to strengthen accountability, discipline and professionalism within the services.
On recruitment, the Board confirmed that the portal for the ongoing federal recruitment exercise involving 30,150 personnel across the four agencies would reopen for applicants from October 28 through November 13, 2026.
Candidates who have reached the oral interview stage will be able to check their recruitment status and proceed to the mandatory drug test, which will be conducted in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Applicants are advised to use the official CDCFIB website, www.cdcfib.gov.ng, for recruitment updates and verified instructions.
The Board’s decisions form part of efforts to improve personnel welfare, strengthen discipline and support recruitment into Nigeria’s paramilitary services.
