Bandits have reportedly killed a father and his nephew and abducted the man’s daughter and daughter-in-law during an attack in Sokoto State.
The attackers targeted the family in the latest incident to raise concerns over the persistent security challenges confronting communities in parts of the state.
According to the report, the bandits killed the two victims before taking the two women away to an undisclosed location.
The incident has left the affected family and members of the community in distress, while renewed calls are expected for stronger security measures to protect residents from armed attacks and abductions.
The attack comes amid ongoing efforts by security agencies to tackle banditry and other criminal activities across Sokoto and the wider Northwest.
Authorities have continued to rely on intelligence-led operations and collaboration with local communities to identify and neutralise threats posed by armed groups.
