The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has intensified its campaign against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking in the state.
The command said it would strengthen efforts to curb the distribution and use of illicit substances, particularly among young people, amid growing concerns over the social and security consequences of drug abuse.
The NSCDC is expected to work with relevant security agencies, community leaders and other stakeholders to identify and tackle activities linked to drug trafficking and substance abuse.
The renewed campaign is also aimed at protecting vulnerable residents, especially youths, from the consequences of illicit drug use, which can contribute to crime, violence and other social problems.
The command called for greater cooperation from members of the public, urging residents to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in tackling drug-related activities.
The development forms part of broader efforts to strengthen security and promote a safer environment across Kano State.
