Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has ordered the immediate construction of additional drainage channels to permanently address the recent flooding recorded at the Sengere Half Cloverleaf Flyover, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to responsive governance and sustainable infrastructure development.

The swift intervention followed reports of water accumulation around the newly constructed flyover after heavy rainfall, which temporarily disrupted traffic flow and raised safety concerns among motorists and residents.

Determined to prevent future occurrences, Governor Fintiri directed the immediate commencement of drainage improvement works, with engineers mobilized to construct additional water canals that will efficiently channel stormwater away from the flyover and adjoining roads.

The project is expected to significantly improve drainage capacity, reduce the risk of flooding during the rainy season and enhance the durability of the road infrastructure.

The intervention underscores Governor Fintiri’s proactive approach to infrastructure management, ensuring that emerging challenges are addressed promptly before they escalate into major problems.

The additional drainage works also reflect the administration’s commitment to protecting public infrastructure, safeguarding lives and property and maintaining a safe and efficient transportation network across the state.

Residents and motorists are expected to benefit from improved road safety and uninterrupted traffic movement once the drainage project is completed.

Governor Fintiri’s administration has continued to prioritise the development of durable infrastructure, investing in modern roads, bridges, drainage systems and other public facilities aimed at supporting urban growth and improving the quality of life for the people of Adamawa State.

The ongoing drainage intervention at the Sengere Half Cloverleaf Flyover is expected to strengthen the resilience of the road against seasonal flooding while contributing to a cleaner, safer and more sustainable urban environment.
