Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has approved the constitution of the state government’s delegation for the 2026 Christian Pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Israel, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to promoting religious harmony, peace and spiritual development.

The delegation, which will oversee government participation in the pilgrimage, is chaired by the Gubo Yungur, His Royal Majesty Johnson Diyo Matalo.

Other members of the committee include Senator Rev. Amos Yohanna, Hon. Japhet Hammajabu, Mr. Samuel Chinda, Rev. Father Anselm Kachalla, while Dr. Bartholomew Nyalas will serve as Secretary.

Announcing the appointments, Governor Fintiri congratulated the members and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, discipline and patriotism.

He reminded the delegation that they had been entrusted with the responsibility of representing both the government and the people of Adamawa State, calling on them to serve as worthy ambassadors throughout the pilgrimage.

“You have been chosen to represent the government and good people of Adamawa State. This is both an honour and a responsibility. I urge you to be good ambassadors of our dear state. Conduct yourselves with dignity and ensure the pilgrimage is hitch free and purposeful,” the governor said.

Governor Fintiri further directed the committee to work closely with the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the welfare, safety and successful coordination of all pilgrims from the state.

He also charged members of the delegation to justify the confidence reposed in them by remaining transparent, accountable and committed to achieving the spiritual objectives of the pilgrimage.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s continued support for religious programmes and initiatives that foster peace, unity, tolerance and moral values among the people of Adamawa State.

The constitution of the delegation marks another step in the state’s preparations for the 2026 Christian pilgrimage, aimed at ensuring a smooth, well coordinated and spiritually enriching experience for intending pilgrims.
