Political leaders and stakeholders in Ebonyi State have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Francis Nwifuru for a second term in office, citing the development strides initiated by former Governor and current Minister of Works, David Umahi, and sustained by the present administration.
The endorsement was made during a gathering of political leaders in the state, where speakers commended the Tinubu administration for its infrastructure and economic policies while expressing confidence in Governor Nwifuru’s leadership.
The leaders said the transformation witnessed in Ebonyi over the years, particularly in road infrastructure, education, healthcare and urban development, laid the foundation for continued progress under Nwifuru’s administration.
They credited David Umahi’s tenure as governor with reshaping the state’s infrastructure landscape and noted that the current administration has continued to build on those achievements through the completion of ongoing projects and the initiation of new development programmes.
The stakeholders also praised President Tinubu for appointing Umahi as Minister of Works, describing the decision as recognition of his experience in infrastructure development and a boost to the Federal Government’s efforts to modernize the nation’s road network.
According to the leaders, continuity in leadership at both the federal and state levels would ensure the successful implementation of ongoing projects and accelerate socio economic development in Ebonyi State.
They called on residents of the state to remain united and support the administrations of Tinubu and Nwifuru, expressing optimism that their policies would continue to deliver improved infrastructure, economic opportunities and better public services.
The endorsement comes as political consultations and alignments continue across the country ahead of the next election cycle, with parties and interest groups positioning themselves for future contests.
Neither the Presidency nor the Ebonyi State Government immediately commented on the endorsement, but political observers say such declarations are expected to intensify as preparations for future elections gather momentum.
