Iran has accused the United States of targeting civilian infrastructure during its latest wave of airstrikes, saying attacks on bridges, transport facilities and public infrastructure have caused significant disruption and endangered civilian lives.

Iranian officials said recent U.S. strikes hit key transport links and infrastructure that they described as essential for civilian movement and public services. Tehran condemned the attacks as violations of international law and warned that it would continue to respond to what it called U.S. aggression.

The United States has maintained that its operations are directed solely at military objectives, including logistics hubs, missile sites and infrastructure used to support Iranian military operations. U.S. officials said the strikes are intended to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten American forces and commercial shipping in the region while minimizing civilian casualties.

The latest exchange comes after several days of intensified military action between the two countries, with Iran launching retaliatory missile and drone attacks against U.S. military facilities and warning that further American strikes would provoke additional responses.

The escalating conflict has heightened concerns over regional stability, with global markets closely monitoring developments amid fears of disruptions to energy supplies and maritime trade through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s busiest oil shipping routes. International leaders have continued to urge both sides to exercise restraint and return to diplomatic negotiations to prevent a broader regional war.

The claims made by Iran regarding damage to civilian infrastructure have not been independently verified, and the United States has rejected accusations that it deliberately targets civilian facilities.
