Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Monisade Afuye, has expressed confidence that Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second term will deliver improved public services, job creation and industrial development across the state.
Afuye said the renewed mandate given to the governor would provide an opportunity for the administration to implement policies and programmes that would have a greater impact on the lives of residents.
According to a statement made available on Monday by the Director of Press in the Deputy Governor’s Office, Tope Ariyo, Afuye spoke during a thanksgiving tour of Celestial Church of Christ branches across Ekiti State.
She made the remarks at a branch of the church in Ikere-Ekiti, her hometown, on Sunday.
The deputy governor attributed the administration’s electoral success to divine intervention, describing Oyebanji as a leader whose faith in God remained strong despite political challenges during the governorship election.
Afuye also commended Christian and Muslim communities across the state for their support for the administration during its first term.
She expressed appreciation to religious leaders and their members for their contributions and encouragement, particularly during the election period.
The deputy governor said the government would give priority attention to job creation and industrialisation during its second term, expressing optimism that the administration would improve service delivery and expand development opportunities for residents.
She said the support received from religious organisations had strengthened the administration’s commitment to serving the people and pursuing its development agenda.
Afuye stated that the government remained determined to translate its renewed mandate into policies and programmes that would benefit communities across Ekiti State.
She also praised the Celestial Church of Christ and other faith-based organisations for maintaining their relationship with the government and supporting initiatives aimed at promoting development.
Earlier, the presiding priest of the church, Ven. Rotimi Ogunbunmi, emphasised the importance of prayer and steadfastness in faith.
Ogunbunmi said godliness and contentment were important values, adding that religious teachings could encourage responsible leadership and good conduct.
He also commended Oyebanji for what he described as his moral character and upbringing, expressing the view that the relative peace and orderliness in the state reflected the importance of faith in leadership.
The deputy governor’s remarks come as the Oyebanji administration begins its second four-year term, following the governor’s re-election in the June 2026 governorship poll.
The administration has pledged to build on its first-term activities while pursuing improved service delivery and economic opportunities for residents.
However, the extent to which the renewed mandate will translate into better public services, employment opportunities and industrial growth will depend on the implementation of the administration’s policies and programmes.
