Singapore-headquartered data centre developer DayOne Data Centers has surpassed 1 gigawatt (GW) of income-generating customer contracts for information technology power capacity, marking a major milestone in its expansion across the global digital infrastructure market.
The company said its billings increased more than eightfold in less than two years, rising from 121 megawatts (MW) at the end of 2024 to more than 1GW. Its customer bookings also reached approximately 2.3GW as of September 20, 2026, compared with 1.25GW at the end of 2025. DayOne additionally reported 1.1GW in customer reservations.
The announcement comes as the company expands its data centre operations in Johor, Malaysia, following an increase in its total financing for the Malaysian platform to approximately $7.2 billion. The latest financing was arranged by a consortium of seven banks to support the development of hyperscale data centre capacity in the region.
DayOne operates across 10 markets in Asia-Pacific and Europe, providing digital infrastructure for cloud computing and other data-intensive services. Its growth reflects increasing demand for data centre capacity as businesses and technology companies invest in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital services.
The company’s latest milestone highlights the growing importance of large-scale data centre infrastructure in supporting the expansion of AI and cloud technologies. However, the pace of development also underscores the need for substantial investment in electricity supply, cooling systems and other infrastructure required to operate energy-intensive facilities.
