The Adamawa State Contributory Health Management Agency (ASCHMA), in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), has commenced a 10 day enrolment exercise to bring people with special needs into the state’s health insurance scheme.

The exercise, which began on 12 October 2026, is taking place across Adamawa State’s 21 local government areas and 226 wards, with the aim of expanding access to essential healthcare services and promoting inclusion among vulnerable populations.

In a related development, ASCHMA has also commenced enrolment under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) 2.0 across the same local government areas and wards. The initiative is expected to improve access to affordable healthcare and reduce financial barriers for eligible beneficiaries.
The agency said the exercises reflect its commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage in line with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s development mantra of leaving no one behind.
