Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has said the country’s economy is gradually stabilising, with inflation showing signs of decline despite the economic difficulties faced by many Nigerians.
She made the statement while speaking on the administration of President Bola Tinubu and its ongoing economic reforms.
The First Lady acknowledged that the reforms had placed pressure on households and businesses but said the government was taking steps to improve economic conditions and strengthen the purchasing power of Nigerians.
According to her, the government’s policies are beginning to produce results, with inflation trending downward and the economy moving towards greater stability.
She urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue supporting efforts aimed at rebuilding the economy, stressing that meaningful economic recovery requires time and sustained reforms.
Remi Tinubu also highlighted various social intervention programmes introduced by the Federal Government to support vulnerable Nigerians and cushion the effects of the economic challenges.
She said the administration remained committed to improving the welfare of citizens and creating an environment that would encourage investment, employment and economic growth.
The First Lady’s comments come amid continued public concerns over the cost of food, transportation and other essential goods and services.
