Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has called on governments across the North East to fulfil their financial commitments toward the regional air shuttle initiative.
Zulum made the appeal while stressing the importance of improved air connectivity in promoting economic growth, investment and development across the region.
He said the air shuttle project would help improve movement between states, strengthen commercial activities and make transportation easier for residents, business owners and government officials.
The governor urged the participating states to redeem their outstanding contributions to ensure the project becomes fully operational and sustainable.
According to him, stronger cooperation among North East states remains essential to addressing the region’s infrastructure and development challenges.
Zulum also emphasised the need for the region to pursue initiatives that would attract investors, create employment opportunities and improve the standard of living of residents.
The air shuttle initiative is expected to enhance connectivity among the six North East states and support regional integration.
He called on stakeholders to demonstrate commitment to the project, noting that collective action would produce greater benefits for the region.
