Manchester United have offered supporters the chance to own a piece of Old Trafford history after putting sections of the stadium’s famous pitch up for sale.
Each preserved 7x7cm section of turf is being sold for £125, with the pieces placed inside glass cubes and presented in black cases as commemorative memorabilia.
The first batch has already sold out, highlighting the interest among supporters in owning a physical reminder of the historic stadium.
The pitch was removed during the summer after 14 years and stripped back to its foundation as part of work at Old Trafford. Rather than discarding the turf, the club preserved sections for supporters to purchase as souvenirs.
Manchester United described the memorabilia as a “priceless memento” of the iconic matches and moments staged at the stadium over the years.
The initiative comes as the club continues to deal with significant financial commitments, with its overall debt remaining above £1bn.
United reported record revenue of £677.6m for the 2025-26 financial year and an operating profit of £22.6m. However, the club still recorded a pre-tax loss of £43m during the period.
The club also confirmed that £63.5m had been spent acquiring land for a proposed new stadium, with the planned project expected to cost more than £2bn.
Old Trafford has been Manchester United’s home since 1910 and has witnessed generations of players, major trophies and memorable matches.
The sale of the preserved turf gives supporters an opportunity to keep a small piece of the stadium as the club looks towards a new era of redevelopment.
For fans unable to secure one of the first batch of turf pieces, further availability will depend on whether Manchester United release additional sections for sale.
