The NYSC Legal Aid Community Development Service Group in Adamawa State has visited inmates at the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Yola as part of efforts to promote legal awareness, access to justice and inmate welfare.
The Corps Members carried out the outreach on Monday, September 14, 2026, engaging inmates on their legal rights and listening to concerns surrounding their cases.
During the visit, 20 inmates were interviewed, with the Corps Members providing legal guidance and information on available avenues for accessing justice. The group also donated sanitary materials, detergents and other essential welfare items to support the inmates.
The outreach provided an opportunity for the Corps Members to interact with the inmates and demonstrate compassion and concern for their wellbeing, while reinforcing the importance of dignity and access to justice for all.
The initiative was organised under the NYSC CDS scheme as part of the Corps Members’ commitment to service to humanity and the nation.
