The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards take center stage Monday night, with television’s biggest stars gathering in Los Angeles for one of the industry’s most anticipated nights. The ceremony will be hosted by Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay and will air live from the Peacock Theater.
HBO Max’s The Pitt leads this year’s nominations with 25, putting the medical drama in a strong position to repeat its success in the Outstanding Drama Series category. Hacks follows closely with 24 nominations, while Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay and Pluribus earned 19 and 18 nominations, respectively.
Several major acting races are also expected to attract attention. Noah Wyle is among the favorites for The Pitt, while Jean Smart is seeking another Emmy for Hacks. Rhea Seehorn of Pluribus, Zendaya of Euphoria and Harrison Ford of Shrinking are also among the notable contenders, with Ford potentially earning his first acting Emmy.
The ceremony begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on NBC and streamed on Peacock. With several established favorites facing strong new competition, the 2026 Emmys could deliver a night of surprises alongside expected victories.
