The reconciliation efforts of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State have intensified ahead of the 2027 general elections, but the absence of some prominent aggrieved governorship aspirants has raised concerns over the party’s efforts to achieve full unity.
Former governor and Senator Teslim Folarin, Minister of Power Bayo Adelabu, Akeem Agbaje, Hakeem Alao and former deputy governor Rauf Olaniyan were absent when the state APC reconciliation committee presented its report to the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, in Ibadan.
Yilwatda described reconciliation as an ongoing process, stressing that the APC remains a family and that internal disagreements would be addressed through dialogue.
He said the party was stable and expressed confidence that the issues raised by aggrieved members would be resolved before the 2027 elections.
The chairman of the reconciliation committee, Femi Lanlehin, also said the committee had made progress, noting that it had engaged the aggrieved aspirants and submitted its findings to the national leadership.
The committee is expected to continue consultations with stakeholders as the APC seeks to rebuild unity and strengthen its chances of reclaiming Oyo State in 2027
