Nigerian professional wrestler Isaac Odugbesan, better known by his ring name Oba Femi, is set to headline WWE’s Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6 in Atlanta, where he will face Bron Breakker in a highly anticipated clash over who represents the promotion’s next generation of superstars.

The showdown was arranged following a tense confrontation on Raw, where Breakker went searching for Femi after making it clear that he wanted to confront the Nigerian directly.

Paul Heyman initially appeared during the confrontation before Femi joined the exchange, with the discussion quickly turning to which wrestler should be regarded as WWE’s future.

Femi confidently claimed that position, while Breakker appeared determined to settle the argument immediately.

However, Heyman intervened and proposed taking the rivalry to a bigger stage. He revealed that he had already spoken with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce about arranging an officially promoted match rather than allowing the confrontation to develop into an unscheduled television bout.

Heyman also highlighted Atlanta as an advantageous location for Breakker, adding another layer to the developing rivalry.

The confrontation follows a memorable moment at SummerSlam 2026, when WWE legend Brock Lesnar raised Femi’s hand after suffering defeat to the Nigerian.

The gesture was widely interpreted as a symbolic passing of the torch, with Femi emerging as one of WWE’s leading prospects for the future.

Breakker, however, appears determined to challenge that status.

The 28-year-old, who competes on WWE’s Raw brand under the nickname “Unpredictable Badass,” is now seeking to establish himself as the company’s next major attraction.

Breakker, whose real name is Bronson Rechsteiner, is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner.

He is currently part of The Vision Alliance, alongside Austin Theory and Paul Heyman, and holds the World Tag Team Championship following stablemate Logan Paul’s injury.

Breakker joined WWE in 2021 and spent three years in NXT before making his move to the main roster in 2024.

Since then, he has established an impressive list of achievements, including two WWE Intercontinental Championship reigns and two World Tag Team Championship victories.

He was also named Rookie of the Year in 2022 by readers of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Meanwhile, Femi has rapidly risen through WWE’s ranks and has increasingly been positioned as one of the company’s most promising young stars.

The Nigerian’s growing profile has now brought him into direct competition with Breakker, creating a rivalry centred not only on victory but also on the question of who will become WWE’s next major star.

Combat sports columnist Drake Riggs believes Breakker remains determined to surpass Femi’s growing standing within WWE.

“Bron Breakker is still fully fixated on Oba Femi, and seemingly, the notion that Femi has overtaken his spot as the future of the company. They appear destined for a collision sooner rather than later,” Riggs said.

He also suggested that WWE may need to separate Breakker from his current alliance to allow him to develop independently.

“But somehow, WWE needs to get that tag title off Breakker and free him from The Vision as well. They’re serving little to no purpose for him,” Riggs added.

With Femi and Breakker now set for a direct confrontation in Atlanta, WWE fans will be watching closely to see which of the two emerging stars takes another major step towards becoming the face of the company’s future.
